We are mainly using model organisms. In higher plants, we use Arabidopsis thaliana is a representative organisms. We also planning to expand to use algae for the future.

Chloroplasts which originate from endosymbiotic cyanobacteria is not only site of photosynthesis, but also involved in various metabolisms. Chloroplast biogenesis is our main research objective.

Our researches are base on molecular biological and genetical approaches. By physiological aspects, regulatory mechanisms of tetrapyrrole biosynthesis are studied for clarify chloroplast biogenesis.
